Trips For Kids Operating in the United States, Canada and Israel,Trips For Kids® (TFK®) has opened the world of cycling to more than 75,000 at-risk youth since 1988 through mountain bike rides and Earn-A-Bike programs. The seventy Trips For Kids chapters they support combine lessons in confidence building, achievement and environmental awareness through the development of practical skills, and the simple act of having fun. What: Zimmerman MS Bike Ride Presented by Mack Cycle and Fitness When: April 21-22, 2012, Time: 7:00 am Where: Homestead-Miami Speedway to John Pennekamp in Key Largo, 1 Speedway Boulevard, Homestead, FL 33035 Details: Homestead-Miami Speedway to Key Largo. The Ride is the largest and best supported two-day, fully catered cycling event in Florida, attracting more than 3,000 participants from across the country. The ride features mileage options of 50, 75 miles on Day 1 and 35 or 75 miles on Day 2. Spend overnight at John Pennekamp State Park, complete with music, team and sponsor tents, catered meals, free camping and a festival-like atmosphere. Registration fee: $50. What: Rapid Transit Cycleshop(http://www.rapidtransitcycles.com) presents Kona Dirt Bike Day in the Chicago Park District's only dirt track, "The Garden." When: Saturday, June 5, 12pm to 6pm. Where: 3300 N. Rockwell (2 blocks west of Western Ave. 1 block south of Addison St.) Free dirt bike riding clinics and bike set up, Kona test rides, pump track races, time trials, music and giveaways. It promises to be a special, fun day and free to the public. Come have an after noon of fun.
